The Boat House in Parkgate has been acquired by Hydes Brewery from Manchester. The previous owners Woodward & Falconer have been bought by Hydes together with four of their pubs (The Goshawk in Mouldsworth. The Stamford Bridge in Tarvin, The Boathouse in Parkgate and The Golden Lion in Rosset) and will continue to be run by Duncan Falconer as part of the new management team. The other two pubs in the former group (The Egerton Arms, Broxton and The Celtic Arms, Northop) have been sold and will operated by other companies. Hydes closed their old brewery a few years ago and relocated to modern smaller premises in Salford in December 2012. The new brewery is entirely dedicated to the production of cask ales. Four beers are available on a permanent basis and an extensive range of constantly changing seasonal ales are also produced.
