Beware, Wainwright (or Hobgoblin) beers sold in this pub may be keg brewery conditioned beers misleadingly served by handpump so they are possibly not cask conditioned real ales. CAMRA representatives have visited the pub to check the facts on several occasions but have not found any member of staff who knows the nature of the Wainwright beer being served.

Former Wetherspoons pub reopened on 14th May 2024 and renamed the Lottie Dod (a Wirral born sportswoman who won Wimbledon five times, the first at the age of just 15). Situated on the main road shopping area, it comprises a split level ground floor design also with a second floor for additional seating and a cosy, well kept beer garden to the rear.
