Refurbished and reopened in 2019 as part of the regeneration of the Victoria Quarter of New Brighton and renamed after one of the founders of the town. Single room pub split into three areas served from one bar. Tastefully decorated with local photos and comfortable seating it is bright and airy with a lively atmosphere. Situated on the main shopping street with outside seating on the pavement, close to the seafront attractions and the Floral Pavilion Theatre. Renamed in September 2025 as the George Orwell.
