Community Pub Award

All pubs are community pubs to some degree, but some pubs serve their community better than others. A community pub is a licensed hub which encourages social interactions and puts something back into the communities it serves.

This could include pubs that offer community activities like live music and quiz nights is a important factor for many pub users. Community pubs tend to enjoy a greater footfall and a higher percentage of pub 'regulars'. Other things taken into consideration:

LIVE MUSIC PUB GAMES COMMUNITY SHOP POOL/DARTS LEAGUE
MEETING ROOM NOTICE BOARD QUIZ NIGHT CHARITY
SPONSORS COMMUNITY GROUP USED BY LOCAL GROUPS BEER/CIDER FESTIVAL FACEBOOK ACTIVITY
SOCIAL INTERACTION INCLUSIVITY PLAY FACILITIES

Nominations are taken in the summer for this award and an assessment made based on the criteria above. Votes are taken, shortlists made and a final vote. All nominees must serve cask ale (this is a CAMRA award) and must not have been presented with this award in the past two years. The award is presented in the late summer/early autumn.
