Community Pub Award
All pubs are community pubs to some degree, but some pubs serve their community better than others. A community pub is a licensed hub which encourages social interactions and puts something back into the communities it serves.
This could include pubs that offer community activities like live music and quiz nights is a important factor for many pub users. Community pubs tend to enjoy a greater footfall and a higher percentage of pub 'regulars'. Other things taken into consideration:
LIVE MUSIC | PUB GAMES | COMMUNITY SHOP | POOL/DARTS LEAGUE |
MEETING ROOM | NOTICE BOARD | QUIZ NIGHT | CHARITY |
SPONSORS COMMUNITY GROUP | USED BY LOCAL GROUPS | BEER/CIDER FESTIVAL | FACEBOOK ACTIVITY |
SOCIAL INTERACTION | INCLUSIVITY | PLAY FACILITIES |
Nominations are taken in the summer for this award and an assessment made based on the criteria above. Votes are taken, shortlists made and a final vote. All nominees must serve cask ale (this is a CAMRA award) and must not have been presented with this award in the past two years. The award is presented in the late summer/early autumn.
